PHEW!!!

I made it through my last night shift, barely!! I was so tired when I got home yesterday morning, but alas I could not get comfortable to actually sleep. So I stayed in bed until I had to get up for my midwife appointment and then got up, got ready and went. She confirmed that the baby had dropped, she didn't say what station, but she did say that the baby is engaged in the birth canal. So I was right!! We talked about me stopping work and she agreed that if it's getting that hard for me and my body is doing what it is doing that its time to stop. Thank God!! We also set the date for our house visit, Feb 9, eeks I have to clean this house!!

Also, Jeff and I went to Lowes last night to look at the tile they have on scale for our bathroom floor and got it. We also got the chair rail for the babies room and a fan/light for the bathroom. By the time we got home I was beyond exhausted and in bed before 9 pm and I actually slept almost 6 hours straight last night!! First time in a long time that that has happened.

Today is hopefully going to be pretty low key. I am going to visit my grammy and fix her computer and then Jeff and I are going to youth group tonight.

Tomorrow is the GTA GTG with my nesties and I quite excited for that. Plus after brunch Jeff and I are meeting up with his friend Aric to do maternity photos at his studio.

Busy weekend for me!!

The baby has dropped!!

Ok, so I am almost 100% sure that after I took that picture yesterday and I went to lay down that the baby dropped in to go position because I woke up with this incredible pressure in my pelvic area that just won't go away and I seem to be able to breath more deeply. Also when I checked to see where the babies head was its way down by my pelvic bone and not up 2 or 3 inches where I usually feel it. I'm excited on one hand because that means that the baby is getting ready to come and not so happy on another hand because I thought my back and sciatic nerve hurt before, well I was wrong. It is way worse now, to the point where it doesn't matter what position I am in, I'm not really comfortable.

Oh well, one more night shift to go hopefully!!

Today I feel very pregnant!!

Oh man, work is getting really hard. I had the heaviest patient yesterday at work and was forever asking for help to move her. I then handed her off to a colleague so that I could admit an emergent patient and boy was that hard. I was just about to go for lunch when she came at about 2 pm and didn't end up getting lunch until 4 pm. I was so shaky and ready to pass out from low blood sugar, but I had no choice the patient had to come first. I don't think I will be doing many more shifts past this week, but I will know for sure when I see my midwife on Thursday afternoon. I am so wiped of energy at about 3 or 3:30 pm/am depending on if its days or nights, my back is killing me, my sciatic nerve makes my leg feel numb and it gives out on my and my feel swell like crazy to the point where I have to wear my work crocs home because my untied boots won't fit. Now I am beginning to see why most of the girls don't work past 35 or 36 weeks pregnant, its almost impossible to do it. Plus if on nights we don't have time for sleep breaks I hardly make it home in the morning and my drive is only 10 mins. Don't get my wrong I love my job, but I would love some down time right now too.

Here is my 35 week bump photo. It's late, but better late than never and I am wearing PJ's, but I work night shift tonight and I'm on my way to have a nap.

Today is my 35/35

YAAAA.... not so much. I thought I would be much more excited about being 35 weeks and only having 35 days till my due date, but I'm not really. I think its partly because we really aren't ready for this baby to come and we still have so much to prepare to even be somewhat ready and partly because I have my first migraine of this pregnancy and nothing is helping it. My head is killing me and I feel so nauseous it's unbelievable. Tylenol isn't doing it and I can't take anything else that does help, so I am spending the day on the couch in the dark. I hope that helps!! One good thing to look forward to is the fact that I will be finished work as of Thursday morning. Only 3 more 12 hour shifts to work!!

Today I feel better

Well last night I spent sometime with my mom and her friends. Most of these ladies have seen me grow from a young child and think it's wonderful that I am pregnant. We were talking about getting ready for the baby and I said were not ready at all we have no clothes, blankets, diapers, wipes or bedding. They suggested that I go get a few things so that I am ready because this baby could essentially come any day now. Now I have been thinking the same thing for a few weeks now, but Jeff insists that we need to wait until after the shower to get anything because we will probably get most of what we need at the shower. I agree, but am still nervous. I got a call last night too from Jeff's aunt and the crib will be coming this week and her youngest now has his toddler bed. Only bad thing is that they are keeping the mattress because the toddler bed they have uses a crib mattress. Now really this isn't a big deal, I just wish we knew about it earlier on because this is just one more thing we need to get as a gift or purchase. I'm not really going to worry to much about it because we do have the cradle for the first 2 to 3 months, but I was planning on trying to use the crib for day time naps to get the baby use to it before the big transition.

So my mom when out today on a date. Her new beau seems very nice and came up to help my mom do some heavy lifting for me. When they came back, she brought me some clothes for the baby. 3 Winnie The Pooh onesies and a Tigger set with a onesie, sleeper, pants and a hat. They are so darn cute. So at least now I can say I have a sleeper, 5 onesies, a hat and a pair of pants in newborn size. Still no blankets or bedding, but it's a start. Also my mom is going to see what we don't get at our shower and help us buy the rest of the stuff that we need right away and can't wait for our next shower when the baby is here, which is a huge relief.

Oh and tomorrow I am 35 weeks pregnant and I only have 35 days left before my due date. EEKS!!!

Night shifts are hard

Wow, work is really getting hard. Last night was a very easy night for the most part and man did it even kick my butt. I was so exhausted by the time I got home I actually passed out right away. It was short lived however, because I was awake at 11:30 am, when I normally sleep until at least 1 or 1:30 pm. Oh well, not much I can do about it. So I got up, caught up on my TV shows and now I am trying to motivate myself to do some house work, which is in dire need.

Maybe I will start with the dishes or maybe the laundry, sigh!!

New Blog Layout

I decided that the old blog layout was boring, so I thought I would spruce it up a bit. Kinda matches the Deco design of my travel system, so I went with it.

This past week was busy. I worked Friday and Saturday day shifts and I have to go in tonight for a night shift. I had last night off as we did our last pre-natal class yesterday. So at least one thing is ticked off of our huge list of things to do.

This week will be pretty laied back. On Wednesday evening Jeff and I get to go to a Toronto Maple Leafs Game, which is exciting. Thursday I go to see my midwives and will be getting another massage (I live for my massages these days). Jeff is away this weekend ice fishing and I work Sunday, Monday day shift and Tuesday, Wednesday night shift. I'm pretty sure that will be it for working, but I will know more at my midwives appointment on Thursday.

Here is my 34 week bump picture in all its glory. The face doesn't look so fat, but man my belly has gone out from last week. Baby is still head down and I would even hazard a guess to say its dropped down slightly. Not enough to make breathing any easier, but the head seems closer to my pelvic bone.

Going to Get the Travel System

Well I'm so glad I called Babies R Us yesterday evening because they only had 4 of my travel system in stock. So they have put one on hold for me and my mom and I are going to get it today. YAAAAA!!! I'm so excited and I can't wait to get it out and try it out. My mom will then go back on Saturday to get some money back for the sale price. I finally feel like I am preparing for this baby to come. We still have no clothes or diapers, but at least we have a car seat and the cradle (once Jeff finishes it) for the baby to sleep in.

It seems almost like this baby isn't really coming even though I know that it is. Soon enough I will be organizing it's little things to get it's room ready for it to come home. Until then it has strict orders to stay put. Once I have the stuff in the room it will be welcome to come. Well I say that now, but who knows how I will feel then.

Well I'm off to get ready to go to Babies R Us!!!

The Cradle is Almost Fixed

Jeff and I went out last night to Canadian Tire to get a few things he needed for his car and ended up getting all the stuff we need to fix and make the cradle safer. Safer you may ask why we would need to do that. Well this cradle is 27 or so years old and was built for me when I was a baby. The base screws had loosened and come out, so Jeff got bigger, longer screws to fix that, plus he used wood glue to tighten up the hold. We also are going to have a pin and slot so I can stop the cradle from rocking altogether and chain attached to the middle and either side so that when it rocks it can only rock so far, instead of all the way around now. I'm so happy that one more thing is on it's way.

Plus my baby shower has finally been set for February 8, I don't have anymore details yet, but at least its set.

Plus by tomorrow night I should have our travel system, so that my mom doesn't have to rush out first thing Saturday morning to get it. Then she can go when ever to get her money back on Saturday during the day.

Well that's all for now.

Well as long as the store still has the travel system that we want this Saturday when my mom goes, we will be getting it. YA!!! I'm so happy and I can't wait, I will feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulder when we have if here and ready to use.

Here is the travel system we picked out.

Wow, I really suck at blogging!!

Well it's been a long time since I posted on here. A really long time, almost 7 months to the day. Well a quick update would be that my first trimester sucked. I was so sick and threw up just about everything I ate and was off work for over 2 months. By about 17 weeks I was feeling so much better, which was a God send. The second trimester was fairly uneventful. I started have sciatic pain on the right side and I had one kidney infection, which caused pretty bad cramping, but with antibiotics things got better quickly. The third trimester has been more eventful. My sciatic and back pain has gotten much worse, I can't sleep more than 3 hours at a time and I have been to L&D once on December 21 for increased swelling, high blood pressure and protein in my urine. At least that turned out to be nothing serious. So at this point in time I am 33 weeks and 1 day. We have a diaper bag, the cradle (in pieces), the crib bedding, 1 yellow onesie, knitted blankets and a few sweaters, a bouncy chair, a swing, a high chair, a pack n' play, size 2 diapers (they won't help till the babies a few months old), to cans of formula (I plan to exclusively breast feed), some bottles and some soothers. We still have yet to get all the stuff to do the nursery, let alone start it. Being the planner that I am, I'm starting to freak out a bit. Hopefully we will have the stroller and car seat this Saturday as it is going on sale, but my MIL wants to purchase this, so I will have to see what happens. I'm off after I finish this update to tactfully write an e-mail to her about it. Yikes!!

We also had our first HypnoBirthing class this past Sunday. It went well and although I was quite worried that Jeff was not going to be helpful, he was great!! We were talking about it after the class was over and he agreed that it is totally possible to be calm during labour because he has seen many cats purr all the way through delivering a litter of kittens. Although I am not so excited about being compared to a cat, I'm glad that he is warming up to HypnoBirthing. I think that as long as we practice, things will go well.

Also, on top of all of this, we bought a house and moved in November 30, 2009. Here is a picture of the house currently. We have tons of plans on how to make it look better inside and out.

Well that's the big update!! I promise to try and update this blog at least once a week from now on, until the baby is here. After that no promises!!

Lastly here is my most recent bump picture in all it's glory!!
